Kenck Again Sets Sights On Senate Seat
Democrat Larry Kenck will take another run at the Idaho state Senate this election season, he announced this week.
Kenck, 48, is the business representative for Teamsters Local 582. This is his second a7ttempt at the District 2 Senate seat held by Republican Clyde Boatright. Boatright defeated Kenck by about 2,600 votes in 1996.
“Many of the promises made during the last election have not been fulfilled,” Kenck said. “We deserve answers to the problems we face in North Idaho.”
Kenck is a Post Falls native. His background includes working in construction and carpentry as well as managing a Skaggs Drug Store for nine years.
He is past chairman of the Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee and is the first North Idaho Democrat to announce for the Legislature.
Kenck has been a supporter of a higher minimum wage, property tax relief and state funding for community colleges. He opposes school vouchers.
He is married and has three grown sons.
