Browne Mountain Cleanup Planned

As part of the neighborhood’s ongoing beautification project, the Browne Mountain Block Watch will be hosting a cleanup effort this weekend.

Neighbors are invited to meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Moran Prairie Elementary, 4224 E. 57th.

The group will be picking up trash in the Browne Mountain area just south of the city.

Linda Haladyna, neighborhood Block Watch leader, said neighbors have been reporting cans, broken glass, carpeting and “unmentionables” in several areas of the neighborhood.

She said trash also accumulates from nearby Palouse Highway.

Volunteers are asked to wear sturdy shoes and gloves and to bring brooms and dustpans.

The Department of Ecology has donated trash bags, and free refreshments will be served.
