Ibm Workers Pocket Record $1.3 Billion In Bonuses
International Business Machines Corp. is doling out $1.3 billion in bonuses to most of its 270,000 employees, the most in recent history despite an uneven financial performance last year.
IBM’s total bonuses increased as a percentage of company profits, rising to 21 percent from 20 percent the year before. IBM gave out $1.2 billion in bonuses last year.
IBM planned to pay bonuses ranging from 4.5 percent to 25 percent of 1997 salary.
