Elizabeth Estella Reglin Spokane

Elizabeth “Gaugie” (Houtchens) Reglin, celebrates her 104th birthday today.

Mrs. Reglin was born Feb. 20, 1894, in Colville, Wash., but has been a Spokane resident most of her life.

She married Edwin Reglin; he died in 1960.

Mrs. Reglin taught school in Spokane for several years, beginning in 1914. She also taught in Stehekin, Wash., Mississippi and in a Hutterite Colony in Montana.

She has one daughter, Shirley Beaurdry-Wood of Spokane; seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She attributes her long life to “an undying curiosity and an interest in life.”
