Dressed To Kill

Highly anticipated London Fashion Week kicked off on a note of rich glamour Saturday. Amanda Wakeley produced the fluid gowns in luxury fabrics that made her a favorite of Princess Diana, then tempted the business-with-attitude set with a pin-striped wraparound design, above. Adventurous Red or Dead presented hooded, spidery mohair knits with Alaskan wolf or eagle motifs, metallic leather jackets, eye-catching stripy jersey tops and wool skirts with jagged hems. Matthew Williamson, who burst onto the British fashion scene last season, showed colorful silks and cashmere knits.
