Driver Jailed After Crash Kills Montanan

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Missoula man was killed early Sunday near St. Maries in what authorities are calling an alcohol-related traffic accident.

Randy Joe Dorman, 37, was pronounced dead at Benewah Community Hospital on Sunday after the vehicle he was riding in flipped into a cluster of trees, according to Benewah County sheriff’s deputy Tim Asberry.

The driver, Jack J. Jenkins, 26, of Darby, Mont., lost control at milepost 4.5 of the St. Joe River Road. The vehicle hit a guardrail, then flipped into several trees.

According to authorities, alcohol was a factor in the accident. Jenkins is being held in the Benewah County Jail, where he faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving without privileges.
