New City Hall Proposal Up For Comment

From Staff And Wire Reports

A proposal to create a town square next to the new city hall will be up for comment tonight at 6:30 at Odd Fellows Hall at 200 E. Railroad Avenue.

Cyndie Hammond, a resident, thought of the idea and has been soliciting comments on the project from the community for about a month. Her ideas for the square include a farmers’ market, a fountain, a bandstand, some shops and a German bake house.

She and others involved in the project have said they want the square to be a gathering place for the community and a focal point for a new downtown. Hammond plans on holding fundraisers to find the money for the project.

Some neighbors to the project have expressed concerns about the proposed location, including a possible shortage of parking. , DataTimes
