If You’re Rich, Famous, Life Can Be One Big Cruise

Oh, the bennies associated with movie-star fame. Take Tom Cruise, for example.

The veteran actor recently purchased a new airplane. In itself, this is no big thing. John Travolta has several of them.

But Cruise’s new flying machine is something special. A top-of-the-line Gulfstream IV, it cost more than $30 million. And it is designed to carry Cruise, wife Nicole Kidman and their adopted children - Isabella, 4, and Connor, 3 - between their American, European and Australian homes.

Some of the features include: a Jacuzzi; a movie viewing area with Dolby sound; a kitchen equipped with microwave, refrigerator and stove with barbecue grill; bedrooms and bathroom for the children; a play area decorated in with “Toy Story” theme. And the main cabin seats 10.

“Hard Copy” reports ex-supermodel/actress Anna Nicole Smith made a display of herself recently at a bar mitzvah held at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Smith made a wrong turn after exiting the women’s room and ended up, well, “dancing suggestively” was the actual description, with the 13-year-old guest of honor. Smith’s friends finally removed her.

Now here’s a charge that’s a bit excessive

Reports that surfaced when Michael Hutchence committed suicide indicated that the INXS lead singer had an estate in excess of $20 million. Turns out the amount was vastly exaggerated. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Hutchence was nearly bankrupt. Moreover, the $33,500 cost of his funeral is still unpaid.

Having found God, rapper Vanilla Ice is trying for another comeback. He found Christ after almost overdosing, and he now says, “I cater to the ones that appreciate what I’m doing.” He calls his new album, titled “Hard to Swallow,” a “high-energy, stage-diving, mosh pit hip-hop. I’m a rapper, man…. that’s my talent.”

After Oklahoma Gov. Frank Keating forgot his tuxedo for a formal White House dinner, he managed to scrounge one up at his hotel. The jacket came from one waiter, the pants from another. At the dinner, when word of what happened leaked out, the other governors started asking him to serve coffee.
