Teen Arrested In Death Of 16-Year-Old

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in the death of a Burien teenager whose body was found in a field two weeks ago, a police spokesman said Wednesday.

The 17-year-old was booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder, authorities said. Police did not immediately identify him.

Anthony Genzale’s body was found in a field the night of Feb. 12 by a man walking his dog.

Genzale, 16, had been expected to testify against a person accused of trying to rob him at gunpoint.

Detectives were looking into whether there was a link between the killing and the attempted robbery.

A break in the case came when King County Police officers informed the Everett police of a carjacking that took place in the Burien area on Feb. 11, Woodall said.

Everett detectives identified Genzale as one of the people involved in the carjacking and, with the help of follow-up interviews, identified three people of interest, Woodall said.
