Spokane Duo Still Leads

Michael Rorholm and Scott Shagool of Spokane fired a 4-under-par 68 for a 131 total and extended their lead to two strokes Thursday after the second round of the Top Flite/Etonic Shootout at the Fircrest Golf Course in Fircrest, Wa.

Spokane’s Steve Prugh and Chris Curran are tied for eighth place, seven shots back, after back-to-back 69s. Randy Fossum and Clint Wallman of Spokane are tied for 34th with a two-day total of 144.

The tourney concludes today at Oakbrook Golf and Country Club.

Braves win series

Mike Tarnes’ third-period goal lifted Spokane to a 2-1 KIJHL victory over Beaver Valley at Eagles Ice-A-Rena on Thursday.

Tarnes’ goal, his second of the year, came at the 11:32 mark and wrapped up the best-of-seven series 4-2 for the Braves.

The Braves will play the winner of the OsoyoosRossland series. That series is tied at 3-3 with the deciding game tonight.
