Whitworth Presbyterian Offers Adult Education Classes

Whitworth Presbyterian Church is starting off the new year with a selection of new adult education classes. All classes will be held each Sunday during January.

“Fanning the Flames of Marriage” will be at 10 a.m. each Sunday. The class is designed for married couples who want to strengthen their marriage. The class will examine the foundation of relationships, how to strengthen your mate’s self esteem, and how to help your mate keep life manageable.

“Estate Planning, Completing the Circle” will be led by Keith Hegg, a certified financial planner. The class will use case studies to illustrate the fundamentals of estate planning. The class, which will be held at 10 and 11:15 a.m. each Sunday, will be useful for those with all types and sizes of estates and will present helpful information on how to control your estate while living.

The church will also present a video series by John Clayton called “Does God Exist?” at 10 a.m. each week. The series will touch on the theory of evolution vs. God, Bible accuracy and other topics. The videos show how we can believe in God and base it on science as well as faith.

Additional classes will be offered. No advance registration is required and the classes are free. For more information, call the church office at 466-0305.

Soloists at North Hill Christian

North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post, will feature music by several guest soloists at the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

Celebration at St. Peter Lutheran

St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal, will have special worship services celebrating the 11th day of Christmas on Sunday. The 8 a.m. worship service will include lessons and carols, and the 10:30 a.m. service will include carols.

The church will also celebrate the Festival of the Epiphany with a special service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Holy Epiphany on Sunday

St. Gregorios Syrian Orthodox Church of India will celebrate the Holy Epiphany with a worship service at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. The service will be held in the lower level chapel at 2404 N. Howard.

Mass at St. Xavier today

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 545 E. Providence, will celebrate Mass today at 10:30 a.m.
