Car Strikes, Injures Deputy

From Staff And Wire Reports

An Okanogan County sheriff’s deputy was struck by a car and injured Wednesday as he was investigating a hit-and-run collision, officials said.

Deputy Tracy Harrison was standing next to a pickup on Second Street in Okanogan when he was hit about 7:10 p.m., Sheriff Jim Weed said. The car that caused the initial hit-and-run apparently was the same car that hit Harrison, Weed said.

Harrison, 37, sprained his neck and received shoulder, back and leg injuries. He was taken to Mid-Valley Hospital where he was kept overnight.

Authorities arrested 43-year-old Okanogan resident Kerry Anne Martinez on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. She may face other charges as well, including drunken driving, Weed said. , DataTimes
