Aubrey Eblin scored 16 of her 19 points in the second half as No. 2 Old Dominion overcame an 18-point deficit to beat No. 6 Texas Tech 74-71 Thursday in Lubbock, Texas.

The Monarchs (9-0) trailed 43-25 before rallying against the Red Raiders (7-2).

Old Dominion took a 57-55 lead on two free throws by Mery Andrade midway through the second half and built an eight-point lead before Tech closed to 73-71 on three straight free throws by Rene Hanebutt.

After Andrade made a free throw with 10 seconds left, Tech’s Alicia Thompson missed an off-balance 3-pointer that would have tied the game.

Thompson finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds.

Andrade scored 18 points for Old Dominion, and Nyree Roberts added 16.

(1) Tennessee 88, (25) Arkansas 58

In Knoxville, Tenn., Chamique Holdsclaw scored 28 points and Tamika Catchings added 24 to lead the Volunteers (14-0, 2-0 SEC) past the Razorbacks (10-3, 0-1 SEC).

Tennessee avenged last year’s loss to Arkansas, breaking the game open with a 29-9 run in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Catchings and Holdsclaw led the run, combining for 18 points in the spurt.

A steal and layup by Semeka Randall gave the Vols their biggest lead at 77-40 with 10:46 left. The Razorbacks went nearly 5 minutes without scoring in a stretch midway through the second half.

Catchings and Holdsclaw also played well in the first half, scoring Tennessee’s first nine points. Karyn Karlin and Kamara Stancle kept Arkansas close until midway through the half.
