Valley Churches Offering New Classes For New Year

It’s the new year, which means that it’s time for a new selection of classes at Valley churches. The Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 10814 E. Broadway, has a new divorce recovery class beginning Monday. The class will be offered each Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. through May 18.

The class will cover a wide variety of topics, including loneliness, rejection, grief, anger, letting go, self worth, transitions, love, trust and forgiveness. The support group is designed to give people a chance to share their feelings and work through issues related to divorce.

The cost of the class is $50 and scholarships are available. All materials are included. To register or for more information, call the church office at 926-1545.

‘Living and Growing’

“Living and Growing Together in Love” is the name of a class for married couples being offered by Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway.

The class will help couples communicate more effectively, learn how to solve problems, to listen and to deal with anger. Counselor Bob Newcomb will lead the class.

The month-long class will begin Wednesday and run through Feb. 11. The class will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday. The cost is $20 per couple and child care will be provided. To register or for more information, call the church office at 928-7733.

Angel’s view of Christmas

Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2511 S. Pines, will have a traditional worship service with communion Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

The service will also feature the children’s Christmas program, “Angels We Have Heard on High.” The story is told from the point of view of a new angel in a church choir who is taught the Christmas story.
