Girls basketball

Lakeside rose to the top of the Great Northern League Saturday, with Brianne Jolley rising to the occasion.

Jolley scored 16 of her 20 points in the third quarter to break open a close game as the Eagles (5-1, 3-0) recorded a 70-47 win over visiting Newport (6-1, 2-1).
