Campbell Soup Honors Skaters

Compiled From Wire Services

Tara Lipinski, Michelle Kwan and Nicole Bobek are skating into Campbell Soup Co. history as the first women to ever appear on the famous red-and-white soup label.

The Camden-based company is dubbing the trio its “Dream Team.” The skaters will be featured on 140 million Campbell Soup can labels that will appear on store shelves later this month.

Campbell will officially unveil the labels at a news conference today in Philadelphia where the women will compete this week in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, which also serve as the Olympic Trials.

It marks only the third time Campbell has placed a person on its soup label. In 1996, hockey great Wayne Gretzky became the first, followed a year later by Reggie White of the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers.
