Power Grains

In the hot cereal game, the numbers keep getting bigger - seven-grain, nine-grain, 11-grain or more.

But Joseph Barron Milling of Oakesdale, Wash., does just fine with an organic cereal that features a mere three grains: cracked wheat, cracked rye and flaxseed, a budding nutritional superstar that’s being touted for its cancer-fighting properties.

Of course, when you’re cooking it, you may want to add a few grains of salt.

Price: $2.50 for 40 ounces.
