St. Maries Wins On Holdahl’s Foul Shots

Tiffany Holdahl hit both ends of a 1-and-1 with 40 seconds left in overtime Tuesday to preserve St. Maries’ 43-42 girls non-league win over visiting Potlatch.
St. Maries (2-9) trailed 37-30 with 2:30 left in regulation, but Lindsey Boyd and Holdahl hit back-to-back 3-pointers, and Jolie Kunkel hit both ends of a 1-and-1 and a layup for a 40-37 lead.
Carrie Mackey’s three-point play with 11 seconds left sent the game into OT. Mackey’s putback with 18 seconds left in OT cut the lead to one, but Potlatch missed two foul shots with 2 seconds left.
