Hall Powers Xplosion’s Win

Vicki Hall scored a season-high 22 points to lead the Colorado Xplosion to an 87-75 victory over the Atlanta Glory in an American Basketball league game Wednesday in Denver.

Hall shot 9 of 13 from the field and 3 of 3 from the foul line in 31 minutes of play. She also had eight rebounds.

Edna Campbell gave Colorado the lead with a 3-pointer just six seconds into the game, and the Xplosion led the rest of the way.

Jennifer Azzi scored 19 points, including two free throws with nine seconds left as San Jose defeated Long Beach.

It was San Jose’s first win in five tries against Long Beach and the team’s eighth straight home victory.

Sheri Sam, who had 16 points, and Charlotte Smith, who finished with nine points, both scored their 1,000th career point for the Lasers. Clarisse Machanguana added 14 and Kedra Holland-Corn 12 for the Lasers.
