Smart Shop Software Moving To Post Falls

Smart Shop Software will more than double the space it now has at the Cd’A Tech Center by moving its corporate offices into 12,000 square feet at the Riverbend Commerce Park in Post Falls. The move is scheduled in mid-March.

Smart Shop’s sales growth exceeded 200 percent in 1997, forcing the company to search for more space and prepare to add up to 10 new jobs to its present 30-person staff. The 10-year-old company sells a software application called Smart Shop Manager, which targets job shops and small manufacturers as customers.

The move to Riverbend also puts the company closer to the Spokane job pool, from which Smart Shop hopes to draw to fill positions in sales, marketing, technical support and computer programming.

Smart Shop recently opened regional offices in Boston and Chicago and plans to open an Atlanta location later this year.

At Riverbend Commerce Park, the firm will be in the 36,500-square-foot Kaniksu building, which will also be the home of the University of Idaho research center and the new Jacklin headquarters, a consolidation of the Jacklin land and properties divisions. , DataTimes
