All Mozart At The Met

Travis Rivers

Together, Mozart’s four concertos for horn serve as the cornerstone of the instrument’s repertoire. Margaret Wilds, the Spokane Symphony’s principal horn, will perform Mozart’s Concerto No. 4 with the orchestra in an all-Mozart concert at The Met Sunday.

Sunday’s program, which will be repeated Tuesday night, also includes Mozart’s Serenade in D and the “Haffner” Symphony. The orchestra’s music director Fabio Mechetti will conduct.

Wilds, who grew up in Seattle, has been the symphony’s principal horn since 1988. She has performed with the Northwest Chamber Orchestra and the Utah Symphony, and with such chamber ensembles as Quintessential Brass, the Emerald City Brass Quintet and Clarion Brass.

The concert begins at 3 p.m. Sunday and at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Met. Tickets range from $9 to $19.50 and are available at the Symphony box office in the Seafirst Building, 624-1200 and at G&B, 325-SEAT.
