St. Maries Takes Advantage Of Miscues

Bonners Ferry turned the ball over 10 times in the first half to help St.Maries to a 62-46 win in Intermountain League play Friday at Bonners Ferry.

Caleb Krebs and Mark Raebel combined to score 31 for the Lumberjacks, who improved to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in league. The Badgers fell to 3-6, 0-2.

The Bears’ defense smothered the Spartans in their league opener at Priest River. The Bears (5-1, 2-0) forced 36 turnovers.

Kirby Brown scored 18 for the Bears. Teammate Corey Comstock had 12 points and Adam Busch and Russ Cosgrove each added 10.

Kevin Behnke had 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Spartans.
