Pair Tied In Mercedes

Compiled From Wire Services

David Duval sloshed around the soggy third round of the Mercedes Championships in 66 strokes and was one stroke behind Phil Mickelson as he tried to become the first player in 45 years to win four consecutive starts on the PGA Tour.

Duval, who won his last three starts of 1997 after going 92 tournaments without a victory, was at 12-under par 204 after 54 holes. Mickelson, who shot a 68 in the third round, was at 203.
