Boy Found Home Alone Bonds With Foster Parents
A 1-year-old boy found alone in an apartment by a police officer is now in a foster home and bonding with the adults who are taking care of him.
Damon Jump is making progress, but he isn’t walking yet, said Kathy Spears, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Social and Health Services.
“He is still smiling a lot and continues to make more and more eye contact … and bond with his foster parents,” she said last week.
Damon’s mother, LaDawn Jump, 21, is charged with first-degree child abandonment and remains in the Regional Justice Center in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
She pleaded innocent last month, and trial is set for Feb. 26, said Doug Barber, a King County deputy prosecutor.
