Notre Dame soccer star Cindy Daws, who set a school record with 26 goals and 20 assists this season, won the Honda-Broderick Cup, an award presented to the nation’s outstanding college female athlete.

Saying she’s ready to make the transition from the court to the front office, Hall of Fame basketball player Nancy Lieberman-Cline was introduced as coach and general manager of the Detroit Shock of the Women’s NBA.

Sugar Ray Leonard pulled out of a Feb. 15 comeback fight against American Tony Menefee because he wasn’t motivated, Leonard’s promoter said.
