Edmonds Man Accused Of Molesting Boys

From Staff And Wire Reports

A former child-care worker has been ordered jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail on charges he molested boys he cared for or met through youth organizations.

Jason A. Suydam, 22, of Edmonds, pleaded innocent Monday in Snohomish County Superior Court to one count of first-degree child rape. More charges are expected, deputy prosecutor Mark Roe said.

Roe said Suydam came into contact with hundreds of children as a coach, baby sitter and child-care worker over the past three years.

“It is unknown at this time how many he victimized,” Roe said in court papers. “The investigation is only beginning.”
