Weyerhaeuser Plans To Close Oregon Mill
Weyerhaeuser said Tuesday it will close its Coos Bay, Ore., sawmill, with the loss of 200 jobs.
The company also will scale back logging operations that support the mill, which produces lumber for the Japanese market.
Weyerhaeuser, which expects to take a charge of about $15 million against 1997 fourth-quarter earnings because of the closure, blamed the decision on changing customer requirements.
