Husband Will Get His Home Back Wife Accused Of Robbing Three Banks To Get Money To Forestall Foreclosure

The husband of a Spokane woman accused of robbing five banks to save their home from foreclosure will get his house back, his attorney said Thursday.

Mike Dressel has made an agreement to buy back the home from PacWest Home Corp. The company had purchased the couple’s north Spokane home at 401 W. Jay, at auction Jan. 9 for $74,600.

PacWest sold the house to him for $89,000, said Dressel’s attorney Robert Waldo. The property is worth between $130,000 and $140,000, Waldo said.

“We had to move really fast on this,” Waldo said about the negotiations with PacWest.

The Dressels would have been evicted Jan. 29 without the agreement, Waldo said.

Dressel was not available for comment on Thursday.

The house was foreclosed on Jan. 8 after the Dressels had missed $6,000 in payments.

Dressel wasn’t told about the foreclosure until the auction sale was complete, Waldo said.

He also didn’t know his wife, Lisa, had allegedly robbed five banks from Dec. 15 to Jan. 8, making off with more than $5,000. She told FBI investigators that she did it to pay off the back payments on the couple’s home.

Dressel told investigators that his wife handled the bills and he had no idea they were behind in the house payments.

Lisa Dressel was arrested Jan. 8 after allegedly robbing three Spokane banks in one day.

A judge released Lisa Dressel from jail Tuesday on $30,000 bond. She faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
