Parade For Champs

The Washington State University football team and other local athletes have been invited to the Parade of Champions next week.

Sponsored by the Spokane Lilac Festival Association, the parade will start at 1 p.m. Jan. 24 downtown. The event will honor area high school and college athletes who have won state and national championships.

Some of the athletes and teams that may attend the parade: Eastern Washington University’s football team; Tommy Becker, Mt. Spokane High School’s AAAA Cross Country Boys’ State Champion; Emily Hawkins, Ferris High School’s AAAA State Girls’ Cross Country Champion; and Central Valley High School’s state champion football team.
