Ex-Redskins Leader Not Ready For Cowboys

Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Joe Gibbs dismissed the idea that he might be one of owner Jerry Jones’ candidates to fill the Dallas Cowboys’ head-coaching vacancy.

“I don’t think I’d look good in blue,” said the former Washington Redskins coach, who led his team to three Super Bowl victories. “I doubt if I would make it through the first week down there.

I’d get my legs blown off. I’m probably not on Jerry’s list, either.

“I wouldn’t say never, but something would have to change in my life to go back to football,” said Gibbs, who has been involved in auto racing and TV broadcasting.

“I don’t think you can go from being a Redskin to being a Cowboy,” he added.
