Traffic Stop Results In Arrest Of Fugitives

From Staff And Wire Reports

A routine traffic stop near Mullan led to the arrests of three people on theft charges, the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday.

The incident occurred at 8 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 90. Westbound traffic was stopped for 20 minutes as a result.

Four people were in the car, which was stopped when a deputy noticed erratic driving and failure to dim headlights, said Capt. Spike Angle.

A background check determined that the driver, 19-year-old Jason Schlegel of Shelby, N.C., was wanted on a felony theft warrant in North Carolina.

Also wanted on theft charges were Anna Bradley, 18, and a 16-year-old, both also from North Carolina. All three were being held Monday in Shoshone County Jail.
