Bishop Mize Will Address Legislative Conference

“Caring About Our Community: Bridges to Justice,” the Eastern Washington Legislative Conference, will be next Friday and Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar.

The conference, 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. next Saturday, will feature as keynote speaker Bishop Walton Mize of the Spokane Diocese of the Christ Holy Sanctified Church of America.

Issues now before the Washington Legislature and practical ways to influence the legislative process will be discussed.

Conference sponsors include the Spokane Council of Ecumenical Ministries, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Spokane, Church Women United, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane.

Cost of the conference is $20, which includes lunch.
