Three Buses Bombed In Pakistan, Injuring Dozens

Three separate bus bombings rocked Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province Sunday, injuring dozens of people, some critically, authorities said.

The worst of the three occurred early in the day near Gujranwala, 120 miles southeast of Islamabad, when a bomb ripped away the rear portion of a passenger bus, leaving 25 people injured, four of them seriously.

Shortly before the explosion two men got off the bus and left behind a bag believed to have contained the bomb, the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan reported. Police were searching for the two men.

No one has taken responsibility for any of the bombings and there was no immediate evidence they were linked.

The second bomb went off at a railway station in Multan, several hundred miles away, injuring five people. A third explosive struck an empty bus near Jhelum. No one was injured in that bombing.
