Prison Term Ordered For Drug Violations
A man whose arrest on multiple drug counts prompted his neighbors to demand he move was sentenced Monday to seven years in prison.
Victor A. Slater, 33, was ordered to serve a little over three years of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole. However, 1st District Judge Craig Kosonen allowed Slater to remain free until after his appeal is heard.
Police who raided Slater’s home in December 1996 looking for his roommate said they found methamphetamine, marijuana and weapons. Slater pleaded guilty last August to unlawful possession of methamphetamine, said Bryce Powell, Shoshone County deputy prosecutor.
Slater’s neighbors mounted a campaign to drive him out of the neighborhood following his arrest. , DataTimes
