Another Missing Woman Feared Victim To Serial Killings

Detectives investigating the serial murders of four Spokane women are searching for another missing woman with a history of prostitution.

Margaret Marion Streeter, 27, has been missing since late October.

Court records show that Streeter has numerous convictions for drug possession and prostitution. She was last jailed in August for taking a motor vehicle without permission.

A joint city-county task force is searching for her in connection with an investigation into 18 murders of women associated with drugs and prostitution since 1984.

A serial killer is believed responsible for the recent murders of Darla Sue Scott, Shawn L. Johnson, Laurie Ann Wason and Shawn A. McClenahan.

Investigators are still seeking information on the whereabouts of three other women who have been missing for some time: Linda Marie Maybin, 34; Sunny Oster, 41; and Jessica Fitzgerald, 23.

All three have worked as prostitutes along East Sprague Avenue, an area frequented by many of the victims.

There have been several unofficial sightings of Fitzgerald, said Capt. Doug Silver of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department. No sightings of the other women have been reported.

Fear of being jailed on outstanding warrants may be keeping these women from coming forward, Silver said.

In response, the task force has set up a phone line for the women to call and talk to missing persons Detective John Grandinetti without having to turn themselves in. Women being sought by the task force are asked to call Detective John Grandinetti at 458-6620.

“We’re really concerned about their safety,” Silver said. “Some of these women do in fact have warrants. But that’s not what we’re after.

“We just want to verify that they are not missing.”

Grandinetti has information that only the missing women would know, Silver said. They will be asked to answer questions about that information.
