Cause Unclear In Child’s Death

An autopsy conducted Wednesday on a 9-year-old boy who was found unconscious in a Spokane Valley bathtub failed to determine the cause of death, authorities said.

The child was found in a partially filled bathtub in his home about 6 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators would not identify him.

The family told investigators that he had been fighting a cold since before Christmas, deputies said.

It is not known if cold medication played a role in his death. Investigators are awaiting lab test results. , DataTimes
