Pointing Guns At Teens A Mistake, Police Say

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police are admitting that three officers acted in error when they pointed guns at three teenagers and scolded them for trying to help at the scene of a fatal shooting.

“The officers made a mistake, and we have sent letters to both kids apologizing,” Lt. Jim Tibbs said Wednesday.

Police Chief Larry Paulson ordered the officers disciplined. But Tibbs would not describe the punishment or identify the officers, saying such personnel actions are exempt from the Idaho Open Records Law.
