Fake Bill Used At Office Depot

A man used a counterfeit $100 bill to buy computer merchandise at a Valley Office Depot store Monday, sheriff’s deputies said.

The store, located at 14008 E. Sprague, is just the latest area business known to have fallen victim to people passing fake bills in recent months.

The U.S. Secret Service continues to investigate counterfeit bill passings in the area. The agency is asking businesses and consumers to inspect their money closely and pay attention to who may be passing fake bills.

Counterfeit bills don’t have red and blue security fibers in the paper and don’t have a security thread running down the left side of the bill. Some have tiny ink dots not found on authentic bills.
