Jason Livengood Receives Army Achievement Medal

Army Spec. Jason G. Livengood, son of Debra Lloyd and William Wyckoff, both of Hayden, has received the Army Achievement Medal.

Livengood, a cannoneer assigned to the 320th Field Artillery at Fort Campbell, Ky., was awarded for meritorious service or achievement and accomplishing the act with distinction.

The honor is awarded to soldiers who have served in any capacity in a noncombat area authorized by the Secretary of the Army.

Army Pvt. Bryan P. Gavin, son of John and Debra O’Brien of Coeur d’Alene, has graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Ryan Jenkins, son of William and Kelly Jenkins of Naples, Idaho, has enlisted in the Army’s Delayed Entry Program as a food service specialist and will depart for basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., in March.

Jenkins, a 1996 Bonners Ferry (Idaho) High School graduate, will qualify for up to $40,000 under the Army College Fund program due to enlistment choice and test scores and will be stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., after advanced individual training.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Earl Mius Jr., son of Earl Mius of Post Falls, recently arrived for duty at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.

Mius is a security forces apprentice assigned to the 72nd Security Forces Squadron.

Army National Guard Pvt. Bonnie Herr, daughter of Carolyn Herr of Post Falls, has graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Idaho Rep. Helen Chenoweth recently nominated local students to the nation’s military academies. Students and their nominations are listed.

Clifford, West Point, both of Coeur d’Alene; Michael P. O’Halloran, West Point and U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., Sandpoint; Jacey L. Vogrig, West Point and Naval academies, Priest River; and Gran M. Horiuchi, Naval Academy, Post Falls.
