Area Radio, TV Affiliates Cover State B From Opening Tip

All boys and girls State B basketball tournament games will be broadcast on radio, but knowing where to turn for boys games will require much more strategy.

Four radio stations are splitting up the boys tourney. All girls games will be on KKPL-AM 630, except for the championship, which will be heard on KXLY-AM 920.

KHQ-TV, channel 6, will again televise both championship games on Saturday night, at 7 for the girls and 9 for the boys.

The radio schedule for the boys tournament begins at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, with two games on KTRW-AM 970. All other Wednesday games will be on KJRB-AM 790.

Thursday’s schedule starts the same, with two games on KTRW and two on KJRB. The final four will be picked up by KGA-AM 1510.

KTRW has Friday’s first game, KJRB the next three, and KXLY the night semifinals.

Saturday’s trophy games will all be on KGA.

Boys tourney announcers include Matt Brown, Bob Wright, Chuck DeBruen and Bud Nameck.
