‘Band Blast’ Features Jazz Performers

Top jazz performers Kim Richmond and Clay Jenkins will perform in a “Big Band Blast” with the Spokane Falls Community College Jazz Ensemble at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Spokane Falls Community College Music Building auditorium.

Saxophonist Kim Richmond is based in Los Angeles and his long career has included performances with several orchestras, including a tour with Stan Kenton and performing on 10 Bob Florence albums.

Richmond also performs on an album with trumpeter and tour partner Clay Jenkins titled “Range.” Jenkins has also performed with a number of orchestras and has recorded three solo albums. The latest album, “Yellow Flowers After,” was released in August.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, available at the door. SFCC students and staff are free.
