Woman Charged With Assault

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 36-year-old woman, who police said was clutching a large shard of glass when they arrived, was arrested for allegedly hurling other pieces at her former boyfriend.

Shawna S. Vedder, 36, was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault. She is accused of threatening to kill Kenneth Ryan, 33, with an 8-inch piece of glass after breaking a front window.

Vedder told police she and Ryan argued when she showed up at his house to retrieve some of her belongings. She allegedly kicked in his front door and shattered the window with her hand, according to a police report.

Police said they found several pieces of glass embedded in the wall and glass in the kitchen area allegedly thrown at Ryan by Vedder.

Ryan asked her to leave and pushed her several times, Vedder told police. Vedder said she became increasingly angry as Ryan pushed her, and she eventually slapped the front window, the police report said. , DataTimes
