Lewis-Clark Seeks Fee Hike For Full-Timers
Lewis-Clark State College administrators are proposing a 10 percent increase in the fees full-time resident students pay starting this fall.
Under the proposed fee hike, in-state students would pay $1,027 each semester, an increase of $93.
The administration will seek comments from students at a March 17 meeting before asking the state Board of Education to approve the increase.
“We look at fee hearings to come even closer to the needs of students,” said College Relations Officer Mel Coulter. “We value their input and we need to work together.”
But administrators may have explaining to do before students agree to increased fees, Associated Students President Matt Plemmons said.
“A lot of people are going to be disappointed and upset that it’s going to break $1,000,” he said.
Plemmons said students would be more accepting of fees topping $1,000 once work on a student union building and campus center is complete.
