Missing Colville Man Found Dead

A Stevens County man reported missing was found dead on Wednesday, Stevens County sheriff’s deputies said.

Jessie McElfish, 19, of Colville was found in Mill Creek about eight miles north of Colville on Aladdin Road. He apparently suffered hypothermia and may have drowned in the creek, according to autopsy results.

McElfish was reported missing by family Wednesday. Deputies found his body and a loaded, stolen pistol about one-half mile from where he had fled from deputies after stealing a motorcycle Feb. 19, deputies said.
