Four Injured After Car Plunges Off Embankment

An accident west of Yakima left four 19-year-old girls in the hospital on Sunday afternoon.

While driving east on state route 12, a car driven by Pam Rold failed to negotiate a turn and tumbled down a 450-foot embankment on White Pass. The car was totaled and left at the scene.

Rold and the three other girls are all from Nampa, Idaho. All were wearing their seat belts. The road was wet at the time of the accident, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Rold suffered a sore back and internal injuries. She was taken by helicopter to Memorial Hospital in Yakima.

Tylene Puckett suffered a possible fractured left leg and was also taken by helicopter to Memorial.

Sarah Reitan and Sarah Conklin both suffered internal injuries and were taken to Providence Hospital in Yakima.
