Man Shot In Neck In Critical Condition

A Boundary County man is in critical condition after being shot in the neck during an argument.

David Nowack, 45, was shot in the back of the neck with a .22-caliber handgun. Authorities arrested David Chitwood, 44, for the shooting and charged him with aggravated battery.

Chitwood is being held in the Boundary County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. at a home near Eastport, north of Bonners Ferry. Authorities said the men were arguing, when Chitwood pulled out a gun and shot at Nowack.

The victim was flown to Deaconess Medical Center. Chitwood apparently called authorities for help after he fired the shot. The incident is under investigation. , DataTimes
