Strip Search Report Given To Prosecutor

From Staff And Wire Reports

A state police report on the alleged strip search of girls at Duniway Middle School was submitted to prosecutors Tuesday.

Yamhill County District Attorney Brad Berry said the report - in several notebooks - will be reviewed and he will decide whether any criminal charges should be filed. He did not say how long that review might take.

A team of state police detectives began their investigation about a week after the Jan. 29 search by two female employees of the McMinnville Police Department.

Thirty-two girls, ages 12 to 14, were searched Jan. 29 after CDs, makeup and cash were reported stolen from a girls’ locker room.

Several girls said they were told to lift their shirts, shake out their bras and drop their underwear to their ankles. Some said they were told if they didn’t comply, it would be done for them.
