Sophomore forward Ed Roy had 13 points and nine rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (21-5) to a first-round victory over the Abes (16-10).

Garfield had six players score seven or more points and led Lincoln by as many as 20 points in the third quarter.

Evergreen, the Class 3A champion in 1995, led 63-60 with 2:58 left and made 11 of 14 free throws down the stretch.

Senior guard David Lehrschall had 18 points, nine rebounds and six assists to lead the Bombers (22-4) past the Tides (21-5).

Lehrschall, who has been suffering from an ailing ankle, was 7 for 12 from the field for Richland. The Bombers broke open a close game in the third quarter with a 20-11 run against the Tides.

Richland won despite going 3 for 21 from 3-point range.
