Teens Say Group Burst Into Home

From Staff And Wire Reports

Two Coeur d’Alene teenagers told police four other teens forced their way into a home Tuesday and then thrashed a car outside with a baseball bat.

Neither of the boys was injured. The car, owned by one of the teens, was damaged and an amplifier was stolen from the home.

The teens told police the intruders came to the house twice.

The first time the four intruders walked in the unlocked front door after ringing the doorbell. One of the intruders accused the teens of stealing from them, took a bass guitar amplifier and left.

One of the teens locked the door’s deadbolt behind them.

The group returned a few minutes later carrying a wooden baseball bat. One of them kicked open the front door, threatened the teens and left.

An 18-year-old at the house later discovered his car’s windows and headlights had been shattered. Police estimated the damage at $300.
