Man Killed In I-90 Single-Car Accident

A 31-year-old Spokane man was killed in a car accident on the Maple Street exit of Interstate 90 early Sunday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Daniel J. Stallman died after the car he was driving left the westbound lane of the interstate and went through a guardrail around 3:30 a.m. The car was traveling at a high rate of speed and was ripped in half by the guard rail, flying over a concrete embankment and landing on the westbound Maple Street on ramp, the patrol said.

Though he was wearing his seat belt, Stallman was thrown from the car. He suffered a broken neck and crushed pelvis. Stallman died at 3:55 a.m., the patrol said.
